The numbers of new Corona casualties are large and unprecedented, as the killer epidemic’s injuries exceed the barrier of 861,000 infected globally with 42,365 deaths recorded in less than four months. The epidemic continues to spread rapidly and alarmingly, which has made many countries and governments in an emergency and alert and pushed them to take all Precautionary measures and measures to confront this horrific epidemic.

With the increase in the spread of the virus through air transport, the need has emerged to enhance joint work between the health and civil aviation sectors, where the International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO, in cooperation with the International Air Transport Association IATA, the World Health Organization and the International Airport Council, developed recommendations and measures to protect the health of passengers and travelers, aircraft crews and staff, and to prevent The spread of infectious diseases through air transport, a project run by the International Civil Aviation Organization to coordinate preparedness in the civil aviation sector for risks to public health at the international, regional and local levels, and this program aims to protect public health and the health of air travelers and workers in the aviation sector and provide assistance to countries to develop National plans to respond to the aviation sector in the face of epidemics.

In this regard, and within the national procedures to confront the deadly corona virus, under the direct supervision of His Excellency Major General / Zakaria Yahya Al-Shami, Minister of Transport, the leadership of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology in our country, represented by Dr. / Mohamed Abdel-Rahman Abdel-Qader – Chairman of the Board of Directors and Professor Raed Jabal, the agency’s agent and all The leadership and employees of the authority to enhance the role of civil aviation in facing the new corona so that the authority intensified its efforts in raising the highest levels of precautionary measures in airports based on the plan of the Supreme Committee for Epidemics, and worked to enhance communication and coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, Population and relevant authorities to ensure that the necessary Preventive measures to confront the Corona virus and prevent its infiltration into the country. The Commission has taken many steps to do so, as it sent early a number of circulars and data to all international airports in the republic and the airlines operating in our country with the need to take all emergency preventive measures and raise health readiness to prevent the infiltration of the Corona epidemic To the country and take the necessary precautions at the airports of Sana’a, Aden, Sayun and Rayan by examining All travelers arriving through those airports using health screening and screening tools to diagnose any people affected by the epidemic, and the authority, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, Population and related entities, prepared, rehabilitated and maintained the quarantine building located on the sanctuary of Sana’a International Airport and activated and strengthened it with medical staff and necessary health supplies to ensure that action is taken Preventive precaution in force in international airports, including the activation of accurate detection and examination of all arrivals through the airport to ensure that they are free of this deadly virus, as well as the establishment of a medical clinic inside the Sana’a Airport terminal to subject all travelers arriving at the airport to medical examination .. to the temporary suspension of all flights arriving To Yemeni airports for a period of two weeks and extend the period to ensure that the Corona virus does not infiltrate air travelers.

The authority has also prepared and produced a number of important awareness, prevention and awareness bulletins, advice that travelers must work with in order to avoid infection with the Corona virus or the transmission of infection and it has been circulated to airlines and published on the website and official social media platforms of the authority.

With the aim of raising awareness of civil aviation and meteorology employees of the Corona virus and its prevention and effective contribution to combating it, the authority prepared, designed, printed and published awareness messages, posters and advertising documents distributed in the authority and its various sectors and airports … in addition to the continuous sterilization of the offices of the authority building and its sectors and buildings and the provision of sterilizers and cleaners therein Canceling the fingerprint system and reducing the number of employees according to what was approved by the Supreme Committee for Epidemics.

Strenuous efforts and serious and responsible procedures of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology have contributed greatly to tackling the deadly Corona virus and preventing its infiltration into the country.
