Al -Durrah and Qahim signs the agreement to establish a dry land port in Hodeidah

The agreement signed by the Minister of Transport in the caretaker government, Abdel Wahab Al -Durra, the Governor of Al -Hodeidah Muhammad Qahim, the Director of the Executive Unit of Projects in the governorate, Eng. Zaid Al -Murtada, and the Director of Legal Affairs at the General Authority for Land Transport Abdul Raqib Al -Hamzi, includes the executive unit of projects and maintenance to establish the first phase of the port on the floor that It was allocated by the local authority at the entrance to the city overlooking the eastern gate of Al Hudaydah Port with an area of 44 thousand square meters, at a cost of 97 million riyals, which includes parking lots for trucks and heavy transport vehicles with accessories to provide them with fuel services and maintenance workshops, with funding from the General Authority for Land Transport.

 

Minister Al -Durra stressed the importance of the port in containing trucks, cargo transport vehicles, carriers, building materials and heavy transport vehicles to avoid random standing at the main entrances and lines in Hodeidah, which causes congestion and disability of traffic.

 

He explained that the establishment of the port is one of the priorities included in the ministry’s plans and the authority for the first stage of the national vision, pointing to the importance of the project as a truck collection station, which will include in its second stage all facilities, requirements and stations for trucks.

For his part, the governor of Hodeidah valued the coordination between the local authority and the Ministry of Transport to develop services in the city of Hodeidah, stressing the importance of establishing a wild port to advance land transport.

The governorate was prepared to cooperate with the Ministry of Transport to develop and regulate land transport in the governorate.

While the Director of Legal Affairs at the Land Transport Authority explained that the establishment of a wild port in Hodeidah comes within the activities of the authority within the framework of the plan for the first phase of the national vision, which included 12 projects, including finding headquarters for the authority and studies of the rehabilitation of land ports targeted by the aggression, as well as the network linking project and the wild navigation room .

The signing was attended by the head of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Engineer Bahri Yasser Mohamed and his deputy Zaid Al -Washali, Director of the Branch of the Land Transport Authority, Ahmed Sharaf Al -Din, Traffic Police, Colonel Ali Al -Ayani, and a number of officials in the relevant authorities in the governorate.
